On the recommendation of the NCERT, REAP has been designed to teach children to read. Reading as a process implies that we use different strategies for reading different texts. Through a guided programme which includes a variety of texts such as storybooks, comics, maps and textbooks, teachers can promote reading skills and build a habit of reading among students. Once again, doorstep education is adopted as the mode of delivery
This project was in collaboration with the SSA, UT Chandigarh. The objective of this project is to:
- enable young learners of government model and non-model schools of UT Chandigarh in developing reading habits.
- learners are encouraged to read stories in English everyday and discuss the key features.
The project was launched in 41 model schools targeting 3478 learners.
